MIDLEGO CITY FIRE & RESCUE
AROUND THE STATION
11-26-09        THE CREW FROM STATION 8 HAD A TEMPORARY STATION SWAP WITH THE CREW OF STATION 10
FOR THANKSGIVING. IT WAS MADE AS A REQUEST BY THE CAPTAIN OF STATION 10 AS THEY HAD MULTIPLE
FAMILY MEMBERS COMING TO SEE THEM AND STATION 8 HAS A LARGER AREA TO EAT AND SOCIALIZE IN
SINCE THE STATION WAS BUILT TO HOUSE 2 ENGINE COMPANIES INSTEAD OF JUST 1 LIKE STATION 10. WHILE
IN THEIR TEMPORARY HOME FOR THE SHIFT THEY WERE ABLE TO MAKE THE BEST OUT OF EVERYTHING
AND HAD A NICE THANKSGIVING LUNCH WITH THE CHIEF, BATTALION 2, MCSO DEPUTY BLAIR, AND A CREW
FROM MIDLEGO AMBULANCE SERVICE. THE CREW OF E-8 WERE CAPT./MEDIC PHILLIPS, SGT./MEDIC DAVIS
AND FF/MEDIC ADKINSON, MAS WAS MEDIC HOMAN AND EMT MANFREDI.

11-05-10        Crew members of Truck 3 are seen below placing new equipment on the truck, checking the
operation of the ladder, and receiving the truck with the fire chief with a plaque from the dealer. This truck
is a 2010 Pierce Velocity quint, with New Brickington Emergency Apparatus used as the local dealer. It has a
100 foot ladder prepiped to the tip, 300 gallon poly tank, 40 gallon foam tank, a  1250 gallon per minute
pump, seating for 8 with 5 scba seats, led lighting by federal, jaws of life, and other truck and engine
company equipment. Truck 3 is assigned 6 personnel but normal shift is 4. The personnel breakdown is as
follows 3 emt 3 paramedic, there is always either a captain or sergeant on the truck at all times and the
remaining personnel are of the general firefighter rank.
11-06-10        On Truck 3's first day of service the crew got to respond to their first fire and put their ladder
up. Unfortunately the fire occurred at Midlego Station 10 while Engine 10 was out on a fire alarm with water
flow activation. The fire was the grill on the roof which was not turned off when 10 caught the fire alarm,
there was no damage to the station or grill and no firefighters were injured. Upon returning from the fire
alarm Engine 10 crew was still able to cook their steaks and enjoy some college football with no
interruptions during the game. The Fire Chief was on scene with command, and after the fire Engine 5 ran
out of St 10 until Engine 10 could return to quarters.
