SERVICES OF THE MIDLEGO CITY FIRE & RESCUE
The Midlego City Fire Department delivers service to our citizens from thirteen strategic locations
throughout the City.  Currently, the Department meets all Federal, National, State and Local mandates,
laws and recommendations that dictate our service.  We are the most medic strong services in the state
with 132 paramedics divided among 3 shifts, and all other personnel being EMT's, or Intermediates.

The fire and EMS responses are achieved with 6 man assigned engine companies. This does not mean
there are 6 men onboard every engine on a daily basis. Due to vacations sick time and holiday leave
these companies run daily with a minuimum of 2 firefighter/EMT's and 2 paramedics.  We are proud to say
that our response times to all calls are an average of 4 minutes and 23 seconds, which is well within all
response criteria mandates.  The Insurance Services Organization has rated the Midlego City Fire
Department as an ISO 1.  Having a rating of at least 5 minimizes the cost of insurance to every
homeowner.  Ratings below 5 reduce the cost of insurance to business and industry.
